Hong Kong - Day 5

31st July 2009 (Friday)

For breakfast, we went to the hk cafe i found yesterday selling egg tarts and 菠萝面包.. but the food was not that wonderful... the egg tart also cannot compare with the one we had ate at Shanghai..

- the 菠萝面包 was so big that it was able to cover half of hf's face!-

After that, we went to ladies market (女人街) as it was not time to meet Lily for Dim Sum lunch~

we mainly bought souvenirs there.. and because when we were there, most of the shops have only just open.. so we were able to bargain a bit~

Then it was off to meet Lily for Dim Sum Lunch~!

She brought us to this restaurant at Langham Place.. level 3.. we ate at 2.30pm cause it was cheaper :p

And below is all the food we ordered!! :p shared between Lily, Jia Wei, Hui Fang, Wei Chen and me! :D:D yum yum~

And because Wei Chen joined us later, we took out her share of food.. so this is one person's portion of food! haaha..

After that scrumptious meal, we headed to Central MTR (中环) to take the tram up to the Peak!

Had to walk a distance to the Lower Peak Tram Terminus.. and along the way, all the famous buildings of HK!

- Bank of China Tower, HSBC Main Building, IFC-

On the tram and up and up we go.. and it was steep!! close to 45 degrees!! and they have tram stops along the way.. so the tram wld stop at these stations for a while at that angle! and it wld rock up and down for a while.. scary!

First up.. Madame Tussaud Wax Museum! time to be star struck!

First wax figure (other then Obama.. which we are not allowed to take photos with using our own camera :( ) is Jay Chou.. BUT.. it does not look like him at alll!!!-yup that's jay chou above-

there was also a hunted house within the wax musuem.. and only me and Jia Wei went for it.. Hui Fang and Wei Chen back out of it after the person manning the entrance said it was scary.. but i can say it was soooo much better then the one in New York! which was absolutely not scary at all!! i was the first in line.. and somehow or rather i ended up sitting on the floor when this person jump out to scare us! hahaha.. but overall it was good!! dunno whether we were screaming or laughing while walking through it! loll...

Then its off to Sky Terrace to see the famous HK view!! *beautiful!!*

just that it starts getting more and more crowded with everyone waiting for the sky to turn dark..

we left before the sky could turn totally dark :(
took the tram back down.. and it was painful for the neck.. haha cause we were travelling backwards..

We took a bus to the Star Ferry terminal to take Star Ferry! :D

and along the way.. we get to see all the famous buildings again.. but this time they have been lighted!

Upon reaching the pier at Kowloon, we met up with Jia Wei's friend.. and off we went to find food around Tsim Sha Shui..

Lost and unsure abt what to eat at Tsim Sha Shui, Jia Wei's friend went to ask passerby abt what is good around this area and they recommended a Macau Restaurant nearby (Exit B of Tsim Sha Shui MTR).. haha getting us ready for our trip to Macau tmr!

Of course i have to eat their egg tarts! (which was so much better then this morning's one.. and it was comparable to the one in Shanghai!) I also had their 猪扒包! which is one of Macau's speciality.. its like chicken chop in between toasted bread! not bad~~

then it was home sweet home..
