Hong Kong - Day 3

29th July 2009 (Wed)

We had breakfast at a hk cafe near our inn... and then its time to visit Ocean Park!!

We took a train to Admiralty (金钟) and from there we took a direct bus to Ocean Park.. everything was very organised with staff directing the queue and a lot of signs showing the way.. *impressed*

but before that.. at the MTR station we came across a promotion by MTR travel agency.. we just have to sign up as a member and we could get the tickets for HK$185 instead of HK$208 (which will further increase in Aug)

A short bus ride later, we are at Ocean Park! We took a while to realise that we were at Tai Shue Wan Entrance (the Headland) instead of the Main Entrance.. lol.. we still wanted to take the cable car to the Headland first..

So from there, we started hunting for rides (for Hui Fang and Wei Chen.. not me!) took the Escalators to the higher grounds.. and the view was good!! look at the blue blue sky and sea!! *beautiful!!*

but it was SCORCHING HOT!!! the sun was sooo bright.. and by the end of the day i was burnt!!

First ride was Space Wheel~~ haha.. just looking at it makes me giddyy.. only Hui Fang was up to it.. Hui Fang before and after the ride ended..

Took a video of Hui Fang on the ride.. u can try to spot her gg round and round.. but CAUTION! if u don't want to end up feeling giddy.. don't watch~

We then continue to proceed up.. they wanted to take Raging River (log ride) but then the queue waiting time was an hour already.. so they give it a miss..

Went instead to sit Ocean Park Tower.. something i can sit! haha.. its actually the same as the one in Sentosa.. just much faster..

So got a great view of the whole park and the surrounding areas!

Pacific Pier.. think where all the seals are? haha no idea.. didn't check it out..

Eagle was up next.. and Hui Fang and Wei Chen was really lucky cause there wasn't any queue when they reach it..

But after the ride, Wei Chen felt worse.. her stomach became more queasy.. she went to sit down for a while and Hui Fang and I went to buy our lunch to eat at the show..

I bought mexican hotdog! haha it was nice.. but i shld have ordered the cheese hotdog since the weather was so hot!

The show was at Ocean Theatre and it was a show put up by dolphins and seals :)

By the time the show ended, Wei Chen was feeling much better and we headed to the aquarium Atoll Reef.. nothing much there except tons of people and fishes..

Hui Fang gave all the other rides a miss and we took the cable car down to the lowland..

Wow.. the ride was impressive.. great views and i got to see that part of Ocean Park was really built up on a mountain.. the cable car travelled up and down the side of the mountain..

They had this Prehistoric Summer Splash that was gg on and there was this Ice Age 3 thing... we thought it was a show or the movie or even a ride.. but instead.. it was just a display of all the characters.. what a disappointment



We then headed to the new attraction.. Amazing Asian Animals!

It's the home of some alligators, red panda (which was super duper cute!!), goldfishes... and An An (安安)and Jia Jia (佳佳)! Giant Pandas that were gifts from China~

See how cute they are!! but the more we look at it the more we think they are people in costumes.. hahaa..
but they do have good life.. haha they even know how to choose among the bamboo that was left for them to eat.. throwing away those that they don't want to eat.. lol..

hee.. cannot take a photo with the red pandas so only can take with the billboard! haha.. but i'm so black after a day in the sun!! :(

Saw these dancers along the way out of the park.. and we watch them perform at SkyFair..

On the bus back to Admiralty.. and Wei Chen with the toys they won.. haha the 'suppose to be' panda ice-cream toy..

On the way home, we decided to go see the Symphony of Lights at night.. so we split.. Wei Chen wld go back to the inn to get her camera and stand.. while me and Hui Fang wld go to Mongkok.. reason being.. the bag Hui Fang bought yesterday at the shop in Langham Place was on the verge of breaking!! just within a day of use.. and somemore the person say the bag can put a laptop.. -_-'' it can't even stand the weight of a water bottle and misc stuff!

but we do not have the receipt with us.. and we also don't know where it is :p at first the person was super not willing to change for us.. cos no receipt.. but after Hui Fang spoke and reason with them for quite some time.. (and we also lied we were gg back the next day liao.. so no time to come back again :p) they finally gave in and allowed to change the bag.. but sad that they don't have the same colour.. red became blue.. but at least its a new bag! (and it is still holding up! :p)

We then met up with Wei Chen at Tsim Sha Tsui to walk to the Avenue of Stars.. but before that we bought Mac for dinner.. the fastest way to settle a meal so that we can catch the show at 8pm..

The Symphony of Lights show if u are interested in watching it.. though the quality not very good.. :p but my cam managed to fit in all the buildings that were involved..

and after that, it is photo taking time! snap snap snap snap snap.. :p
