22 August 2013 (Thursday)
Started our day with our complimentary half day HK tour that comes with our Groupon purchase.
Even though i had went on the half day tour before with my parents, Lay Ling havent been to any of the places before. So revisiting these touristy places again! :)
The tour started first with breakfast at a typical canto restaurant which sells dim sum in the morning.. with uncles reading newspapers and yum cha-ing.. but no photos of the dim sum we had cause we were sharing table with another couple. But the food was so so only and we had to pay additional HK$60 for it. >_<

After that, it was travelling to the Stubbs Lookout Point at the Peak. First time visting this particular lookout point!
But the sky wasn't particularly clear.. so we couldnt see the full skyline of Hong Kong clearly.

Photo taking time!
After that, we headed to Repluse Bay and we were left to spend about 30 mins to roam around the beach.
Pointed out by the tour guide that the house on the hill in the picture below belongs to Jacky Chan..
Photo taking time again and while doing jump shots, my bag broke >_<
We went to 7-11 to grab some drinks before boarding the bus to head off to our next destination.. Aberdeen Fishing Village :)
Again been there before, but a totally new experience for Lay Ling.
HK$55 to take the sampan out to tour around the fishing village.
That's Jumbo Floating Restaurant in the background.. mega huge floating boat with intricate design
After that, we entered into the 'fishing village' itself, with all the boats docked in random rows in the basin.. really amazed that people can live on these boats.
Super love this shot! :)
Final shot of us at the jetty before heading to the next destination, which is the Jewel & Herbal Shop -_-''
As usual, complete waste of time visiting these shops.. but it is part and parcel of the half day tour. So we just randomly walk around while waiting for the rest.
But curious seo saw something very interesting on the way to the jewel shop! (mb only interesting to me :p)
Construction of an above ground station & viaduct!! If only i can walk around and see see for a longer period of time :p *occupational hazard*
After that, they dropped us off at Tsim Sha Tsui and we went to find the famous butter cookie located there. The shop name is called 'Jenny Bakery' @ Shop 24 Ground Floor, Mirador Mansion, 54-64 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon (MTR Exit D2). But.. we gave up buying any cookies after seeing the ridiculous long queue that extend out onto the sidewalk outside the building! People are even queuing with their lugguages in tow! We deemed that it was totally not worth the time to wait for the cookies even though it might be really really good..
After that it time to hunt for lunch! And we went hunting for a 茶餐厅 recommended by Lay Ling's sister. It wasnt easy to find though cause we totally walked past the entrance! Only managed to find the place after asking the security guard at the building next door who directed us to the place.
There's the entrance to look out for! The 茶餐厅 we are heading to is located at the basement!
蘭芳園 Lan Fong Yuen(茶餐厅)
Shop 26, LG, Chung King Mansion (Woodhouse), 36-44 Nathan Road , Tsim Sha Tsui 尖沙咀彌敦道36-44號重慶大廈活方地庫26號舖
Long queue as expected but we got our place pretty fast! Though as usual, we are sharing the table with other people.
And the food is pretty good! Still thinking about it till now!
Lay Ling had the 鸳鸯鬼佬饭, while i had the 喇沙湯底豬肋骨米粉, as well as toast which came with the set meal. And not forgetting milk tea as well!
It was a filling and satisfying lunch, and there was the old school feel to the place~ highly recommend this place! but next time i must go visit the main store at 2 Gage Street Central.
After that, we commenced our shopping trip! whee~ but first up, some Coach shopping for Lay Ling to buy her wistlet. And then we headed to Mongkok 花园街 for our usual shopping spree! ^^
By the time we are done, it was close to 9pm and time for steamboat dinner at 稻香! Another recommendation by Lay Ling. :):)
稻香
香港九龍旺角彌敦道625及639號雅蘭中心3樓
早上8時30分 - 下午5時30分;晚上6時 - 凌晨2時
Waited a while for our seats but it was totally worth the wait!
It was ala carte steamboat and seems like there wasnt much choices for meat other than different types of balls (maybe cause we dont know how to order) but the soup base we chose (猪骨锅) was SUPER tasty! yum yum!!
Our yummy pot filled with yummilicious food! :D :D
We could stay for as long as we liked. But we were super full by the time it was 11+pm and time to head home with all our shopping. But to our horror, it was raining heavily when we stepped out of the restaurant!!! :( :( :(
And no other way to head back to our hotel other than walking back >_<
So both us slowly made our way back to the hotel with our bags in the heavy rain.. through the dark alleys.. and we were drench by the time we reach the hotel..
what a way to end the day~~
